Hi class,
Someone in another class asked me how I prefer headings to be formatted, whether essays need titles, and if I require cover pages. These are all good questions, and the answers apply to everyone.
I would like headings that are single-spaced and left-aligned that include name, class section, assignment (for example "My Antonia essay"), and date.
A title would be nice, but is not required. When we have longer papers, creative titles will be required. For essays, you don't need to have a title, but it might help to grab my attention.
No need for a cover page.
Because I didn't give these requirements sooner, they will not apply for tomorrow's essay. Please apply them to future assignments.

Hi Mrs. Patterson,
I know it's late (and that you probably won't respond before tomorrow) but I just wanted to ask you if it is okay if my paper is over 3 pages in length... I underestimated the amount of information I had...

Hi Rafi,
It's okay if you go over the page limit. Sometimes the page requirement will be rigid, but if I don't say otherwise, it's okay to write more than I ask for. Looking forward to reading your paper!
